Can Anyone and Any Entity Be Co-Signer For A Student Loan

A spouse, relative, guardian, or friend can be a cosigner; however, only one person can cosign for a private student loan. Even if two people are willing to be cosigners, only one can be. A cosigner is equally responsible for repayment of the full amount of the loan. Corporations and trusts cannot be cosigners.
