There is no restriction on how many times one can file for bankruptcy in any state. Whether one has gone through the bankruptcy process multiple times or not, it does not matter. There is only one minor caveat. Filing for an additional bankruptcy too quickly may negate the benefits of an 'automatic stay' which stops creditors from any collection attempts. Certain states hold that any prior bankruptcy case dismissed within the last 12 months of the current bankruptcy filing will have their 'automatic stay' end thirty days after the new filing, unless one requests a court order that extends the stay via a court hearing.
