Why File 'Resignation of a Registered Agent' After Creating a Free Church

Since all 50 states require a registered agent, one must be listed. Those in a church often have little funds to begin, therefore registering self/pastor/leader as the registered agent is beneficial to save money, and is a requirement for the Articles of Incorporation to be accepted. Without a designated agent, it is unlikely the formation documents will be approved. Once the paperwork is filed, the agent may be removed by filing a Statement of Resignation of a Registered Agent by a Foreign or Domestic For Profit / Non-Profit Corporation. Filing this will then allow the 508c1a to operate with an alternative registered agent, but without needing the agent to sign or notarize any paperwork henceforth.
